Plan ahead for Horse Fair traffic around Alliant Energy Center

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Traffic will be more hectic than normal during Friday's morning commute because of the Horse Fair happening at the Alliant Energy Center.

Dane County Sheriff's Office says the delay will most likely be on the Beltline.  Hundred of spectators and exhibitors will be arriving at the Alliant Energy Center during the time when many people are driving to work.  Authorities expect east and westbound lanes to be busy.

For those going to the event, you can enter the Alliant Energy Center through three gates: Olin Ave. gate, Rusk Ave. gate, or the main gate on Rimrock Rd.  One outbound lane of John Nolen and one outbound lane of Rimrock Rd. will be closed to get participants to the ground in a timely manner.

Law enforcement will be out directing traffic around the congested area.  Signs will also be out to guide anyone.

If you can avoid the area, please do so.
