Ground-breaking for New Holland Pavilions at Alliant Energy Center

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A massive new project is underway at the Alliant Energy Center.

Dane county officials broke ground on Friday on the New Holland Pavilions, which will replace the Alliant Energy Center's aging barn facilities.
The two 24-million dollar state-of-the-art pavilions will offer 290,000 square feet of multi-use space.

Mark Clarke, the Executive Director of the Alliant Energy Center says, "One of the neat things about these are multi-use facilities so if there are times when we aren't hosting livestock events we can completely remove all the stalling and penning and now we have 290,000 square feet of flat space to really be for a trade show type space, so they are very multifunction type facilities."

Construction will begin after this weekends horse fair, and will be completed in time for the 2014 World Dairy Expo in late September.
