Severe weather travels through southern Wisconsin

UPDATE (WKOW) -- A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 11 p.m. in southern Sauk County and until 11:15 p.m. in southeastern Columbia County.

The National Weather Service says quarter-sized hail and ping pong ball sized hail could fall and damage to vehicles is expected. NWS recommends people seek shelter inside and stay away from windows to avoid injury.

A Flash Flood Warning is also in effect in Columbia, Iowa and Sauk counties until 2:15 a.m. Sunday because of the heavy rainfall expected. Do not drive through flooded roads.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in place until 5 a.m. Sunday for the following Wisconsin counties in our area: Adams, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Green Lake, Iowa, Jefferson, Juneau, Lafayette, Marquette, Richland, Rock, Sauk, and Walworth.

UPDATE (WKOW) -- A Severe Thunderstorm Warning is still in effect in Richland County until 9 p.m., Crawford until 9:30 p.m. and Grant County until 9:45 p.m.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is still in effect for Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Lafayette, Richland, Rock, Sauk and Walworth counties.

About 2 to 4 inches of rain is expected to fall in many areas throughout the weekend. The heaviest rain will fall Sunday evening.

UPDATE (WKOW) -- The National Weather Service has canceled the warning in several counties. In our area, northeastern Dodge County still remains under a severe thunderstorm warning until 8 p.m. and Richland County until 9 p.m.

SULLIVAN (WKOW) -- The National Weather Service has issued several warnings and advisories as strong storms travel through Wisconsin.

A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect in Dane, Dodge and Iowa counties, until 8 p.m. 60 mile per hour wind gusts and quarter-sized hail is expected. Damage to vehicles, roofs and trees could occur.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 p.m. in our area in Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Lafayette, Richland, Rock, Sauk and Walworth counties.
