Man accused of killing wife expected to testify

Posted: Updated:
MERRILL (AP) -- The Lincoln County man accused of killing his wife and dumping her body in a swamp is expected to take the stand in his defense.

Mark Bucki's attorneys say they expect to call the 50-year-old defendant to the stand early Tuesday.  Bucki has denied killing his wife, 48-year-old Anita Bucki, following an argument at their town of Corning home last April.

Bucki told police he had no idea what happened to his wife and reported her missing April 26.  Her body was found May 10 in a swamp about 18 miles from the couple's house.  She had been stabbed in the chest.

The jury will be sequestered at a Merrill hotel once deliberations begin, and that could happen later Tuesday.
