No indication of foul play in Prairie du Chien store fire

PRAIRIE DU CHIEN (WKOW) -- Investigators in Prairie du Chien say there is no indication of foul play in the fire that destroyed the Slumberland Furniture store.

That's according to Prairie du Chien Chief of Police Chad Abram, following two days of investigation with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Division of Criminal Investigation of the Wisconsin State Fire Marshal's Office, the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Crawford County Sheriff's Office.

The fire started around 7 p.m. Sunday night in the Slumberland store in the Blackhawk Junction Mall.

Slumberland is a total loss and other businesses in the strip mall suffered some smoke and water damage. Some of those business have since reopened.
