Dane County 911 Center pre-alert program approved

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- 911 dispatchers in Dane County will begin sending pre-alerts to get responders out to emergencies faster.

The county's 911 Center Board approved a 90-day pilot program Wednesday night, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

It will begin May 5. The move comes after criticism from Madison Mayor Paul Soglin and police and fire officials about a lag in dispatch times.
