2 heroin overdoses within 2 hours in Janesville

Posted: Updated:
JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Police are encouraging heroin users to seek addiction treatment after two overdoses on Wednesday.

Janesville police responded to two heroin overdoses within two hours of each other on April 16. The two people who overdosed did survive, but authorities now believe a stronger batch of heroin is being distributed in the community.

Police say you cannot tell how strong heroin is just by looking at it so there is a grave risk for someone who takes the drug. Heroin users risk their lives every time they use the drug and authorities are encouraging addicts to seek treatment at addiction counseling agencies in the area.
