MADISON (WKOW) -- A Republican state senator says he'll announce next Tuesday whether he'll make a run for Wisconsin's 6th Congressional seat in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Joe Leibham, of Sheboygan, would be the third Republican candidate to replace retiring GOP Congressman Tom Petri, who has represented the district in east-central Wisconsin's since 1979.

Petri is considered a centrist. Glenn Grothman, a far more conservative Republican state senator from West Bend, announced he would run for the office before Petri made his announcement not to run. The day after Petri's announcement, Rep. Duey Stroebel, a Saukville Republican, announced he would run for the seat, as well.
