BARABOO (WKOW) -- A Baraboo teenager is sharing the support he received from the community with others in need.
Drew Nachreiner was hit by a car in March, his motorized wheelchair damaged beyond repair. The 16-year-old was not seriously hurt, but was lost without his wheels. The teenager suffers from cerebral palsy and depends on the wheelchair for mobility.
After seeing his story, Home Health United stepped in and offered to order a new, custom-made chair for him. Drew's family announced Saturday that chair would arrive in Baraboo on Monday.
Drew says he's relieved to get back to normal.
"Pretty pumped, I just wanna have my chair back, picking it up, taking it back home with me, finally," Drew tells 27 News on Saturday afternoon.
The community had already started raising money to replace Drew's chair for him, before Home Health United stepped in. Drew decided he'd donate the $5,000 raised to the Boys and Girls Club of Sauk County, where he spends a lot of time.
