MADISON (WKOW) -- Authorities are trying to find a man who robbed a gas station on Northport Drive early Sunday morning, according to a Madison Police Department report.

Police say the robbery took place at the PDQ station at 1434 Northport Drive at 5:45 a.m. The man went into the store and asked for three packs of cigarettes. After the clerk got the cigarettes, the man implied he had a weapon and demanded cash. He then fled on foot with the cigarettes and a small amount of cash.

The man is described as African American, between 45 and 50 years old, and is 5'10" and 140 pounds with a 'distinct gait.' Police say he was wearing a light grey sweatshirt and dark pants. Anyone with more information is asked to contact Madison Area Crime Stoppers at 608-266-6014.
