Manitowoc Co. family business closing after 162 years

Posted: Updated:
TWO RIVERS (WKOW) --  One of Wisconsin's oldest businesses and an iconic staple in Manitowoc County's Two Rivers has closed it's doors for the last time.

Chris Suettinger is a fifth generation owner of Suettinger's hardware, but his generation will be the last.

It was the first retail store in Two Rivers, and it closed on Saturday for good.

"I would like to really thank all the customers over the years for supporting us. A lot of them expressed they're gonna miss us," said Suettinger.

Suettinger says they couldn't compete with the big retail stores that most people shop at today. Suettinger's hardware was open for 162 years.
