JANESVILLE (WKOW) --  The Rock County Sheriff's Department has released two photos of an SUV similar to the one involved in a double fatal hit and run accident Sunday night.

The crash happened on Highway 14 in the Northeast part of Janesville around 8:00 p.m.

According to the Rock County Sheriff's office, 24-year-old Mitchell Vance and 18-year-old Devin Julius were killed when their motorcycles were hit by a mid-sized SUV.

Deputies say the SUV drifted over the center line, struck the men and ejected both of them from their vehicles. It then fled the scene of the crash.

Pieces of the suspect vehicle were located and collected as evidence, one of those pieces being a headlight assembly from what was believed to be a Nissan vehicle.

In researching the headlight assembly, detectives contacted the local Nissan dealership and a local repair shop.  It was determined the assembly was actually a bumper mounted driver's side fog light from a 2001-2003 Infiniti QX4.

Witnesses to the accident say the vehicle was dark in color, possibly dark blue or black.

Rock County deputies continue to investigate the accident and ask anyone with information to contact them at 608-757-7923.
