President Obama visits Washington mudslide area

Posted: Updated:
EVERETT, Washington (WKOW) -- President Barack Obama will be visiting the areas affected by the mudslides that hit Washington state one month ago.  He will meet with victims' families and first responders.

The death toll from the mudslide has risen to 41.  There are just two names that remain on the list of missing people.

The Snohomish County medical examiner's office counted two more victims on Monday, but they have not yet been identified.  The sheriff's office removed two names from its missing list, which had stood at four.

The landslide happened on March 22 and tore through around three dozen homes.  Oso is about 55 miles northeast of Seattle.
