Homes sales down in Wisconsin last month

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Existing home sales in Wisconsin fell 11% in March, compared to the same month a year ago.

The Wisconsin State Journal reports the chillier winter is one possible factor. The Wisconsin Realtors Association admits the spring selling season got off to a slow start, but believes the market might improve along with the weather.

The association says median sales prices statewide rose 2% to $136,500.

The first three months of the year are traditionally slow for home sales.

Real estate agents say better weather helps home sales not only because more buyers come out but because the landscaping is fuller and greener, making the entire home's appearance more appealing.
