DCHS celebrates 'Help a Horse Week' to encourage adoption

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- The Dane County Humane Society celebrates Help a Horse Day.

Horses at the Humane Society need to be adopted and you can help. You can adopt more than cats, dogs and rabbits at the Humane Society. Currently, six horses are in the car of the organization. Watch Wake Up Wisconsin at 6:00 a.m. to learn more about Ty and Cody, both horses available for adoption at the DCHS.

From April 21 - April 26, DCHS is having a "Fill the Trailer Challenge."  DCHS needs at least 75 bales of hay to fill the horse trailer. Click here to donate a bale of hay for $10 dollars.

On Saturday, April 26th at 6pm, DCHS will be having an educational talk on equine dental health that will be geared to horse owners. This presentation, by Lodi Veterinary Clinic, will be held in the main shelter training room. Admission is just $10 and includes entry for door prizes and light refreshments.  All proceeds will go toward our fundraising campaign to build a new equine and livestock barn at DCHS.
