UPDATE: Eagles released in Onalaska

Posted: Updated:
ONALASKA (WKOW) --  The two eagles that were rescued in Onalaska were released back into the wild.

Animal rescue workers found them stuck together earlier this week.  The eagles were released separately  since the workers think their tussle was a fight over territory.  The birds flew away in opposite directions.

ONALASKA (WKOW) -- Humane Society workers in Onalaska rescued two bald eagles this week.

The two eagles were stuck together by their talons.  Once both eagles were separated, they were transported back to the Humane Society where workers surveyed the damage done.  Getting them separated with not easy considering their wingspan can be as long as humans are tall.

The birds had some puncture wounds from the talons, but they will likely be able to return to the wild soon.
