Billboards used in search for SUV from fatal hit-and-run

Posted: Updated:
JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Authorities say billboards are being used in the search for the SUV believed involved in the Easter Sunday, hit and run deaths of two motorcyclists near Janesville.

Rock County Sheriff's Captain Jude Maurer tells 27 News the electronic billboards showing an SUV similar to the suspect vehicle are in Janesville, Wisconsin Dells, Rockford, Freeport and other cities.

Authorities say the suspect SUV is a dark colored, 2004-2007 Infiniti QX56. Officials say the suspect SUV has driver side, front end damage to a fog light.

Maurer says the resources of an Illinois stolen vehicle task force are helping with the search. Maurer says the task force links to an extensive network of auto shops.

Authorities ask anyone with information to call 608-757-7923.
