Pursuit on west side of Madison leads to arrest of 17-year-old intoxicated driver

UPDATE (WKOW) -- Madison police have identified the 17-year-old driver as Alan Uscanga. 

Uscanga was sent to the hospital after he led police on a short pursuit when he crashed on the west side of Madison Wednesday night.

According to Madison police, the 17-year-old was intoxicated and is charged with eluding and his second offense operating a vehicle while intoxicated causing injury.


MADISON (WKOW) --  Madison police say a crash led to a pursuit which led to another crash on the west side of Madison Wednesday night.

Police say an officer observed a crash on Hammersley Road and Frisch Road.  The officer went to investigate when the driver responsible for the crash drove off.  This led to a pursuit around the area until the vehicle crashed into a parked car on Loreen Drive.  The 17-year-old driver tried to run, but eventually he was caught by the officer.

Police have arrested him, but the driver was sent to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries.  Police say the driver was intoxicated.  His 18-year-old passenger also had minor injuries.

Dane County Communications says the call came in around 9:30 p.m.
