Pedestrian hit & injured by vehicle that left scene in Beloit

BELOIT (WKOW) -- Police are looking for a driver who is believed to have hit a pedestrian crossing the street in Beloit Sunday night.

Beloit police say the victim was walking across Portland Avenue east of 4th Street around 8:30 p.m. when a dark blue, compact car hit the pedestrian.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspected vehicle was last seen going east over the Portland Avenue bridge. Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency dispatch number at (608) 757-2244.
