Woman in crosswalk struck by vehicle

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police were called just after 9:00 Monday night to the intersection of S. Blount and E. Washington Avenue for the report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.

The investigation reveals a 50-year-old female was crossing E. Washington, in the crosswalk, when the driver failed to yield and struck her.  The victim suffered a broken arm and other non-life threatening injuries.  She was admitted to the hospital for observation.

The 74-year-old driver was charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.  The investigation continues.
