MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison's Plan Commission approved rezoning some property on East Johnson Street to create a village of tiny houses.
This is part of Occupy Madison's controversial plan to convert an auto repair facility into a workshop with outdoor space for ninine-by-14 foot trailer mounted units, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The Urban Design Commission has already given initial approval. The Plan Commission approved by voice vote Monday evening, the State Journal reports.
The newspapers says several neighbors have expressed concerns about safety and the potential for declining home values.
The City Council will take up the zoning change next month.
