LA Clippers coach agrees with ban of owner

Posted: Updated:
LOS ANGELES (AP) -- L.A. Clippers coach Doc Rivers finally spoke out about the controversy with the owner of the team.  Rivers says he agrees with the punishment handed out to Donald Sterling for his racist rant.

The NBA Commissioner banned Sterling for life from the NBA and fined him two and a half million dollars.  Sterling was also ordered not to participate in team business.  Rivers says the scandal has emotionally drained his players.

Rivers says, "I don't think this is something that we rejoice in or anything like that.  I think they were just happy it was a resolution and it's over."

Commissioner Adam Silver is also recommending that other NBA team owners force Sterling to sell the Clippers.  That will take 3/4's vote, but there is no word on when they'd vote.
