Man sentenced to more than 6 years for fatal crash
BARRON (WKOW) -- A Spooner man convicted of causing the death of a 15-year-old boy in a crash has been sentenced to six and a half years in prison.
23-year-old Wade Richey was sentenced in Barron County on Wednesday in the death of Triston Sager.
Our affiliate, WQOW, says the teen was riding in the man's SUV when it crashed in 2012. Another passenger who was injured told investigators Richey knew he had bad brakes, but was still driving more than 90 miles per hour and sliding around road curves.
Richey was found guilty of homicide by use of a controlled substance and reckless driving causing great bodily harm.
