Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A Department of Transportation employee was hurt on the job Wednesday afternoon.

He was operating a sign board truck parked at the end of the Todd Drive exit ramp off the eastbound Beltline, notifying drivers of the construction, when his vehicle was hit by a Ford truck.

The worker was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the truck that hit him, Michael Polasek of Monona, was cited for unreasonable and imprudent speed and unsafe cutting in when passing.

Both vehicles were severely damaged.
