MADISON (WKOW) -- Police are looking for a suspect who was involved in an armed robbery Friday night one block south of the UW-Madison campus on Regent Street.
At 10:15 p.m., the suspect went into Wingstop at 1234 Regent St. and brandished a silver handgun, according to the City of Madison Police Department. He ordered all employees to the ground and demanded that the employees give him cash from the register. After getting the cash, he fled Wingstop and was seen getting into a dark four-door sedan, which police say was possibly a Chevy Malibu. The vehicle was last seen traveling west on Regent Street. Another person was driving.
Police say the suspect is a light-skinned African-American male in his early 20's. He was last seen wearing a dark coat with a hood, dark jeans, and red-and-black tennis shoes. Officials say the suspect’s description matches the description of a suspect involved in an armed robbery last weekend at Pizza Extreme.
Police ask that anyone with information call the City of Madison Police Department.
