Motorcycle rider hurt in Sauk Co. crash

Posted: Updated:
TOWN OF SUMPTER (WKOW) -- Authorities say a man was hurt in a motorcycle crash in Sauk County.

The Sauk County Sheriff's Office reports a motorcycle was traveling north on Highway 12 around noon Saturday, negotiating a curve just north of Waterbury Road when the rider lost control and crashed. The motorcycle slid about 100 feet, and the biker was thrown from it.

The 58-year-old rider was not wearing a helmet and sustained non-life threatening injuries to the head. He was the only one on the bike.

Authorities believe a strong wind may have been a contributing factor in the rider losing control of the motorcycle. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
