Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- Three former Wisconsin Army National Guard Members got a special honor today, that only a few receive.

The 2014 Hall of Honor was held at Witmer Hall in Madison. The Hall of Honor began in 2000 and honors those who have distinguished themselves and exemplify the core values of military service.

Among them was Colonel Michael Williams who served for 30 years. He spoke at today's ceremony about the honor and the notice he gets from the public.

"A man came up to me and said congratulations Mike, I heard that you were inducted into the Wisconsin Crossing Guard. It brought back deja vu because my father served as a crossing guard for many years. He then then said oh I knew you were in the military," said Williams.

Sergeant Gregory Fulton and Colonel Michael Fonger also were recognized at the ceremony for their service.
