Fuel spill may close busy Wisconsin rail line

Posted: Updated:
WATERFORD (WKOW) -- A stretch of one of the busiest rail lines in the state may have to be temporarily shut down because of a fuel spill.
Around 10 p.m. Sunday, a train going through Waterford in Racine County hit some debris and punctured a fuel tank.
The Department of Natural Resources estimates one to two thousand gallons of diesel fuel soaked into the ground.
Officials say cleanup crews may have to dig out the contaminated soil, which could force service to stop along the tracks.
