MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison police are investigating after a violent burglary on Madison's south side.

They say a man was inside his apartment in the 2300 block of Carling Drive on Sunday night when three men forced their way inside.

The victim says he was tied up, hit with a pistol and burned with an iron before the suspects stole money and his cell phone.

After the incident the victim walked to a nearby gas station and called 911.

He was taken to the hospital and was treated for his injuries.
