Shirtless man causes disturbance and beats another man at Madison bus stop

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A 19-year-old Madison man was taken to a hospital for observation after he reportedly ran down a busy street shirtless and beat an older man at a bus stop Thursday night.

According to the police report, one of the callers to 911 said a man was "higher than a kite," dancing in traffic, and jumping on cars on the 600 block of Whitney Way just before 8:00 p.m.

When officers arrived on scene, they say the shirtless man was at the West Transfer point, where he repeatedly punched a 49-year-old man. It took several officers, and a taser, to bring the suspect under control.

Police say the suspect was chanting incoherently. He was then taken to a hospital for observation.
