JANESVILLE (WKOW) -- Police in Janesville say the body pulled from the Rock River is that of a woman who was at least 60 years old.

Officers tell 27 News the woman has not been positively identified. They say the body was in the water for a while and there are no obvious signs of trauma on the body. The next step in the investigation is to do an autopsy.

Police say a teenager who was fishing spotted the body about 15 feet from shore near the Center Ave. bridge. The teen ran to a nearby bait shop, where he told the owner and first responders were called.
