MADISON (AP) -- The Tomah Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is planning a Memorial Day observance next week.
The public ceremony is set for May 23 on the front steps of Building 400 on the Tomah VA campus. The proceedings will move inside the Tomah VA chapel if it is raining.
The agenda calls for a keynote speech from Chief Warrant Officer 4 Tim Pickerill of Fort McCoy. The Tomah High School band will perform, as well as a bagpipe performance by Navy veteran John Elliot. There will also be a reading of the names of Wisconsin service members who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
