WI boy will have his picture on Dec. 28 Packers tickets
GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- The winner of the “Packers Ticket Takeover” contest is a six-year-old boy from the Green Bay area.
That's right. When Daniel Stevens was just four-years-old, his father asked who his favorite superhero was. The little boy thought for a moment and then shouted "Aaron Rodgers."
So, for Halloween, Daniel dressed as No. 12, donning the jersey over a set of youth la crosse pads and adding football pants and a helmet. Let's not forget a goatee, created with mom's eyeliner.
The snapshot was entered in the contest and, with more than 8,000 entries received, won. The entries were narrowed down to five, chosen by Packers officials, and were then posted on packerseverywhere.com. Daniel's photo was chosen with 22,000 votes. He will be the face on approximately 80,000 tickets for the Packers' home game against the Detroit Lions Sunday, December 28.
Stevens will receive two tickets to the Detroit game, but he won’t need the plane tickets that would have gone to an out-of-town winner. The family lives just minutes from Lambeau Field.
It’s fitting the tickets are for the Lions game because that’s the opponent Daniel saw at Lambeau last season, the first time the Oneida Turtle Elementary School kindergartner got to watch his hero in action.
