Jim Dine art exhibit arrives at Chazen Museum of Art

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A brand new sculpture is now on permanent display in downtown Madison.
The massive 15-hundred pound bronze skull was installed in front of the Chazen Museum of Art on Tuesday morning.

The sculpture, titled "Ancient Fishing" is part of an exhibit featuring nearly 70 works that have been gifted to the museum by artist Jim Dine.

Russell Panczenko, the director of the art museum says, "I invited him to take a tour of the new museum after the tour he was so taken by it and he said, would the museum be interested in having some of his work? Of course, this is an incredible artist. :3

The sculpture, along with the rest of Dine's exhibit will be unveiled to the public on Thursday.

While the sculpture outside is permanent, the rest of his works will only be on display through mid-august.
