UPDATE: 2 victims in hospital with life-threatening injuries after overnight shooting

MADISON (WKOW) --- Madison Police say officers were investigating a routine call in the Allied Drive area Thursday night when they heard multiple gunshots less than a block away.

The two officers saw subjects running away from the scene.

Two victims were found with multiple gunshot wounds.  The officers administered emergency medical treatment until others arrived to the scene. The victims are 21 and 24-year-old males. 

Both victims were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police say this is not believed to be a random act, but they are still investigating.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police say two men were transported to the hospital and admitted after a shooting on Allied Drive.

We do not yet know the extent of their injuries. Police officers would not comment on what happened, but say this appears to be a targeted shooting.

Madison Police say more information is expected to be released later today.

MADISON (WKOW) -- Madison Police are responding to shots fired on the 2300 block of Allied Drive. 

Dane County Communications reports that there are two victims at this time, but can't confirm the extent of their injuries. 

Our crew members at the scene said police had Allied Drive blocked off at Jenewein Rd. and going south at least a block or two.

Police officers on scene could not comment on what had happened.
