Mount Horeb man arrested for stealing copper from Edgewater Hotel site

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A construction worker at the Edgewater Hotel project contacted Madison Police after spotting something in a nearby pickup truck parked in a lot off of Langdon Street.

Thursday afternoon, police discovered more than $2000 worth of stolen copper underneath a tarp and blanket in the back of the truck.  The worker's employer, Findorff, had copper wire and pipes taken from the construction site sometime in the overnight hours Wednesday.

A representative with Findorff was able to identify some of the copper as belonging to the company.

Brandon Kalish (31), of Mount Horeb, was arrested for receiving stolen property, possession of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia, and a probation hold.
