Abbrederis making hometown proud

Posted: Updated:
WAUTOMA (WKOW) -- The city of Wautoma, WI is celebrating its homegrown talent, Packers receiver and former Badger, Jared Abbrederis.

He's the talk of the town, in a town of just 2,200.

Abbrederis has done a lot to put Wautoma on the map, leading his team to a high school state championship his senior year, playing for the Badgers and now being picked by the Packers.

Wautoma head football coach Mike Kiefort says, "There's a lot of buzz in the town. People are excited being, kind of, in the middle of nowhere."

High school principal, Todd Lindstrom agrees."Just a great small town, a role model for our students here at Wautoma and our community and we couldn't be more proud."

Abbrederis' hometown fans don't have to go far to see him play.

Green Bay is only about 1.5 hours from Wautoma.
