Mumps case confirmed on UW-Madison campus

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A case of the mumps has been confirmed at a preschool classroom on the UW-Madison campus.

That's according to a letter obtained by 27 News, that was sent by Public Health Madison and Dane County to parents and staff members from the UW Preschool Lab.

The case was confirmed in the Dragon Fly Room at the lab. The letter informs parents of the symptoms of mumps and how it can be prevented.

It does not say whether the disease is connected to other mumps cases on campus that caused about a dozen students to get sick earlier in May.
