MADISON (WKOW) -- Investigators with the City of Madison Fire Department have determined a cause for three of four fires from last week.
Thursday night there was a kitchen fire on Pulley Drive that killed three pets. It was determined to be an accident and due to an unspecified electrical fault or failure. The occupants of the home were not there at the time. Damages have been estimated at $40,000.
That same night there was another kitchen fire on Tennessee Trail. This was the result of unattended cooking by the residents. Damage estimates are set at $75,000.
Friday morning there was a fire at the GEF 1 building on East Washington Avenue. This was ruled accidental and was the result of unspecified electrical fault or failure. The building has been returned to the property owners.
Wednesday night there was a fire on Loomis Circle, which remains under investigation. Damage estimates are $500,000 and the fire displaced 15 people.
