WHITEWATER -- Both the UW-Whitewater softball and baseball teams have advanced to their respective 8-team NCAA Division III National Championship series.
The Warhawk softball team topped Illinois Wesleyan 6-3 in the Super Regional Championship to punch their ticket to Tyler, Texas for the 8-team championship beginning Thursday. UW-W will open the Championship with an 11:00 am CT game against Rochester (NY) Thursday, May 22.
The UW-W baseball team defeated Adrian 5-4 to advance to the Division III World Series set for May 23-27 at Fox Cities Stadium in Appleton, Wis. The Warhawks will face the winner of the New England Region (Southern Maine or Endicott) Friday, May 23 at 7:45 pm.

The Warhawk baseball team is aiming for its first national title since 2005, while the softball team looks to claim its first championship ever.
If either team can win a national championship in their respective 8-team tournaments, UW-Whitewater would become the first school at any level to achieve a football, basketball and baseball/softball national title in the same school year.
