Fire causes $1M in damage to trucks at Rock Disposal in Beloit

TOWN OF BELOIT (WKOW) -- A multiple garbage truck fire in the Town of Beloit caused a million dollars in damage.

According to the Town of Beloit Fire Department, the vehicle fire happened just before midnight on the 2300 block of W. B R Townline Road, at Rock Disposal.

When crews arrived on scene, two garbage trucks were fully involved in fire, and two others were partially involved.  Crews were able to keep the fire from spreading to other vehicles, though several others will need to be repaired due to heat damage.  The four garbage trucks are considered a total loss.  Crews were on scene for about 90 minutes.

There are no reports of injuries.
