Hummus being recalled due to possible health risk

Posted: Updated:
Nearly 15,000 lbs of hummus and dip products are being recalled because it may contain listeria.

Lansal, Inc announced Monday that they are voluntarily recalling the products because it may contain Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.

The possible contamination was found during a routine test by the Texas Department of Health. So far no illnesses have been reported.

Consumers who have purchased a recalled product are urged not to eat it and to throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
