Motorcyclist injured after striking deer

WESTFORD TOWNSHIP (WKOW) -- A Cazenovia man was injured early Sunday morning after striking a deer and being thrown from the vehicle.

According to the Richland County Sheriff's Department, Anthony Q. Block, 33, was driving north on County Highway II less than a mile north of Corwin Ridge Road when he hit a deer and was thrown from the vehicle at about 2:59 a.m. Block was not wearing a helmet and suffered injuries to his face, head and chest. He was taken to Richland Hospital and then transported by Med Flight to UW Hospital in Madison.

Officials charged Block with a first offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.
