Madison man arrested after making threats with knife

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A Madison man is arrested after threatening another man with a knife.

Police say the incident happened just before 10:30 p.m. Monday night in the 2000 block of Northport Drive on Madison's east side.

Police responded to the scene after a frightened woman called them. She says she was having a hard time putting her child to bed because the suspect, 33-year old Vincent Toliver, was outside making a bunch of noise.

She asked him to quiet down, and when Toliver refused, her boyfriend went out and told him to leave.

Toliver then threatened the boyfriend with a knife, and then he broke a glass storm door to their residence.

Police struggled to bring Toliver under control, and needed to use a taser before taking him into custody.

Toliver was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed, criminal damage to property and resisting/obstructing.
