Iowa man arrested in Darlington for OWI

DARLINGTON (WKOW) -- City of Darlington police arrested a 47-year-old Iowa man Saturday afternoon for OWI.

Richard Lee Olmstead, of Camanche, Iowa, was pulled over around 4:20 p.m. and ultimately arrested for OWI-4th offense.  Olmstead was also cited for operating without a valid driver's license, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of synthetic marijuana, and having open intoxicants in his vehicle.

Olmstead is currently being held in the Lafayette County Jail.  His passenger, 29-year-old Valerie Reed, of Davenport, Iowa, was cited for open intoxicants.  She was then released pending a court appearance.
