MADISON (WKOW) -- The conservative group Americans for Prosperity is spending $866,000 on a new television ad touting Gov. Scott Walker's policies but not mentioning him by name.
Americans for Prosperity spokesman Christopher Neefus says the ad launched Tuesday and will air for three weeks in all major Wisconsin markets.
Titled "It's Working Wisconsin," the ad features people talking about laws put in place in 2011 that effectively ended collective bargaining for most public workers and required them to pay more for pension and health benefits.
The campaign spokesman for Democratic candidate for governor Mary Burke says contrary to the ad's claims, Wisconsin families are struggling and Walker's policies aren't working.
A Marquette University poll last week showed voters were evenly divided between Burke and Walker, with each having 46% support among those surveyed.
