Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) -- A local high school freshman gets the chance of a lifetime to go to Interlochen Center for the Arts, an internationally recognized performing arts school.

Kyle Elliott is now preparing for his summer adventure. He's a freshman at McFarland High School. In June, he'll attend a program known around the world to practice vocal performance, dancing, theater, instrumental music and creative writing.

Elliott competed against hundreds of students around the world to be accepted into the program. He had to submit vocal solos, a dance routine, an acting monologue and an extensive application. During the summer program, he'll be involved in the summer theater production of 'Les Miserables.'

Elliott is the only student from the McFarland area going to the program.

The program will last about six weeks in Northwestern Michigan. Click here to learn more about the program.
