EAU CLAIRE (WKOW) -- A FedEx semi tractor-trailer caught fire on Interstate 94 in Eau Claire late Tuesday and caused lane closures overnight.

According to our affiliate, WQOW, the crash was first reported around 11:45 Tuesday night east of Highway 37.  The trailer was engulfed in flames.  Traffic was rerouted for more than three hours.

The Wisconsin State Patrol says the FedEx driver slammed into a guard rail, disconnecting one trailer and igniting a second one.

Luckily, the driver was not seriously hurt.

Troopers say the right lane of I-94 westbound is now open, but all lanes of I-94 eastbound are still closed near Highway 37.
