Packer fans watch team during first public practice of new season

Posted: Updated:
GREEN BAY (WKOW) -- The new Packers team gave fans their first sneak peek at what to expect this season.

The team took the field for their first public practice of the year Thursday. The crowd cheered as if it were game day when quarterback Aaron Rodgers connected on a pass to former Badger Jared Abbrederis.

Fans say getting to see their favorite team in may is quite the treat.

"I've never seen a practice like this. I don't know what to anticipate but I just know it's Packers, I don't care we're just psyched to be here," Elica Kunkel, a Packer fan from Greeley, Colorado, said.

With new faces like Julius Peppers, and first round draft pick Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, fans say they're expecting big things from the defense this season.

"It's gunna be a great year, better than last year, defensively you know, so if their safety comes through that's gunna be the key thing I believe" Jon Hauser, a Packer fan from Kaukauna, said.

The team has also scheduled public practices for June 3 and June 10, with their first training camp practice at the end of July.
