486 animals find new homes at free adoption weekend

Posted: Updated:
MADISON (WKOW) --- Dane County Humane Society, Dane County Friends of Ferals, Angels Wish, Friends of Noah, and the Humane Society of Southern Wisconsin are happy that 486 animals were adopted this past weekend at Maddie's Pet Adoption Days.

The organizations earned up to $2,000 per adoption with Maddie's Fund to help support future animal needs.

The adoption program is nationwide and locally the Dane County Humane Society saw a line of people waiting to adopt.

Maddie's Pet Adoption Days helps senior animals get a second chance.

With all of the animals adopted, Dane County Humane Society has a lot of laundry and is in need of detergent donations.  They can be any liquid brand high efficiency or regular.

If you can help, drop off to the main shelter on 5132 Voges Road in Madison. The center is closed on Wednesdays and is closed for a special event on Friday and Saturday this week.
